NATALIE HANSON | SHE/HER/HERS | Chicago, IL
Natalie is a performer and artist from Tacoma, Washington. She graduated from Creighton University in 2018 with a B.F.A in Musical Theatre and has since been living and performing in Chicago. She was last seen in Omaha as Pollyanna D. in the Rose theatre's premier of "Howie D: Back in the Day." Since quarantine began, Natalie recently started creating her own alternative/singer-songwriter music under the name Facade Queen. Her piece will be choreographed to an original composition. Through Making Space, Natalie strives to create accessible movement, based heavily in using her actor's toolbox. Immeasurable gratitude to everyone supporting me on this journey thus far.
For Making Space - Natalie worked with a small group of dancers in Chicago in a socially distanced, outdoor atmosphere. She created a short dance film featuring original music entitled, “For James”
For James is a reflection of what is going on in the Omaha community, and the cries to bring justice for James Scurlock. Filmed in Chicago with local creatives, the movement for my piece is based strongly in the natural tendencies of each dancer, a collective of individualistic movement rather than precise uniformity.” - Natalie Hanson
